I took Alexandra shopping for an Easter dress today. Now that she's so tall we started searching in the Ladies Department for the first time and she made a beeline for a Ralph Lauren clingy little black dress with a plunging neckline. Astonished by my tomboy's choice while trying not to faint from sticker shock at the same time I told her it was a cocktail party dress not an Easter dress. "What's a cocktail party?" she asked. "If you don't know you're not old enough to wear the dress!" I retorted. In the end we found the Juniors section and some cute blue dresses better suited to a 13 year old and her mother's budget.
